SAN LUIS OBISPO COUNTY CITIZENS
CAN'T AFFORD BRUCE GIBSON!
Gibson strongly supports ACA-1 and gutting Proposition 13 taxpayer protections.
IN HIS OWN WORDS...
August 17th, 2023, Sacramento: As the Vice President of California State Association of Counties, San Luis Obispo County Supervisor, Bruce Gibson speaks at a Press Conference about the need to make it easier to raise taxes.

Mr. Gibson bemoaned the idea that "they" lost out on twenty-five million dollars - that's $25,000,000 coming from the taxpayers of San Luis Obispo County! The ACA 1 Bill that Gibson is boasting about, lowers the vote threshold requirement for increasing taxes from a 2/3rds vote down to a mere 55% vote needed. Gibson is all for Sacramento taking more of your tax dollars. In these incredibly trying times of inflation, who can afford that?!

Contrary to what Gibson tells San Luis Obispo County residents - that he is in favor of preserving Proposition 13 - he turns around and tells Sacramento bureaucrats that San Luis Obispo County is in favor of raising taxes and reducing the voter threshold.

It is fair to say that Supervisor Gibson does NOT represent the residents of San Luis Obispo County. He clearly represents an agenda that is detrimental to the taxpayers and constituents of SLO County.
WHY DISTRICT 2 SUPERVISOR BRUCE GIBSON NEEDS TO BE RECALLED

The county Supervisor position is supposed to be an unbiased and nonpartisan representative position. However, Supervisor Bruce Gibson is, and always has been, far from being unbiased and nonpartisan. Instead, he has cultivated a reputation for being extremely divisive and is known to be downright hateful towards anyone who disagrees with his liberal, "progressive" ideology.

Gibson's continual engagement of name-calling and lying from the Board of Supervisors' dais, and especially in his newsletter, "Notes for the Dias", of and about those who disagree with him, is politically biased and unbecoming of an elected official.

One of Gibson's favorite lies is calling the "Richard Patten redistricting map", a "gerrymandered map". It was not. Plain and simple. The "Patten map" is a legal redistricting map, according to the 2019 State of California Fair Maps Act. To confirm this, the county paid $150,000 to a redistricting consulting firm that confirmed the "Richard Patten map" for District 2 followed all of the guidelines set by the State of California. The San Luis Obispo County Counsel also concurred that the "Richard Patten map" met the California Fair Maps Act requirement and was a legal redistricting map. Regardless, Gibson continues to mislead San Luis Obispo County citizens on this issue, and as a result, has led the charge to revert San Luis Obispo County district lines back to the 2011 map - which does NOT meet the State of California requirements for a legal map. Gibson's efforts have now placed San Luis Obispo County in NON-COMPLIANCE with the State of California's Fair Map Act requirements! SLO County district lines are now illegal, thanks to Supervisor Bruce Gibson's efforts.

Many citizens do not realize what has been happening at the local county government level this past year. Our county is on the verge of being destroyed if Supervisor Gibson continues to take us down the current path. It is fair to say that Gibson is leading the charge in our destruction.

When we the people fear our leaders, that is called tyranny and works to tear down the fabric of our Republic.
Since the last election, in which Gibson won by a questionable 13 votes, the Board of Supervisors, under the direction of Bruce Gibson, has methodically reversed every good thing the former conservative board had established. One such reversal was the reinstating of a planting ordinance that denied small farmers their Constitutional right to fully access the water under their own land. Interestingly, a blind-eye is turned at the county level as this planting ordinance is ignored by a few select big ag farmers – the same farmers who have given thousands of dollars to Supervisor Gibson's campaigns over the years.

Is it no wonder that during Gibson's multiple terms as a SLO County Supervisor, he has established a blatant "pay-to-play" modus operandi of placing big donors in positions of power?

This is Gibson's 17th year as a SLO County Supervisor. He has grabbed entirely too much power and influence over fellow county department heads - micro-managing them to bend them to his politically biased whims.

It seems everything Supervisor Gibson touches is bad for the taxpayer. He continues to seek ways to raise your taxes, to close Oceano Dunes, to close the county's largest employer, Diablo Canyon nuclear power plant, pushes for damaging wind farms to be placed in our ocean off of Morro Bay, to give away our precious Paso Basin water to big industrial farmers and large campaign donors, and to prevent family farms from fully accessing their own water.

These are but a few of the long list of reasons concerned SLO County citizens from all political parties and walks of life believe recalling District 2 Supervisor Bruce Gibson is critical for our county's survival. MORE REASONS TO RECALL
